Fort Lauderdale Real Estate
Fort Lauderdale has long been one of Florida’s favorite tourist destinations, and for many reasons, aside from the 7-plus miles of beautiful beaches. Sometimes called the “Venice of America”, Ft Lauderdale is criss-crossed with 165 miles of waterways and channels, providing boat and yacht access not available anywhere else in the country. It’s estimated there are 42,000 yachts in permanent residence on the water here, and we have over a hundred marinas and boatyards. For anyone dreaming of living on the water, you’ll have a better chance of finding the perfect dream home in Fort Lauderdale here, and with many foreclosures still available, you may find it on any budget.
Our city also serves as an entry for the majority of the Caribbean cruise ships. The Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport in nearby Dania Beach is one of the fastest growing airports in the United States, serving Port Everglades – the third biggest cruise port in the United States. Florida’s deepest port, Port Everglades is also a receiving area for much of the country’s petroleum imports. These industries and tourism as a whole combine with other huge employment providers; including American Express, Motorola, The Continental Group, and our largest job provider, Tenet Healthcare. There is no shortage of varied and interesting job opportunities in Fort Lauderdale.
Homes and Investment Property
Housing in Fort Lauderdale is some of the most diverse anywhere – from affordable starter homes to channel front properties, to extravagant oceanfront beach homes, to downtown high-rise luxury condominiums and beachfront vacation condos. Yacht enthusiasts can find estate homes with deep-water docks, and snow birds can have a winter home on the south end of the Intracoastal Waterway for the bi-annual trek from north to south. Golfers can always find the perfect home on the greens, and horse lovers find no shortage of equine facilities in and around the city.
Culture and Lifestyle Attractions
What kind of entertainment and lifestyle do those who call Ft Lauderdale home enjoy? More than you can even imagine! It’s estimated that there are more than 4000 restaurants and over 100 nightclubs in Fort Lauderdale, many of which are in the Riverwalk Arts and Entertainment District on Las Olas Blvd.
For sports enthusiasts, we have several stadiums, with soccer, hockey, basketball, baseball, and football games hosted regularly. We have the Ft Lauderdale Aquatic Complex which is open to the public as well as offering professional swim competitions.
A few other attractions to mention include our huge flea market – the Fort Lauderdale Swap Shop, as well as the world’s biggest drive-in movie theatre. Part of our beach is dedicated to the Hugh Taylor Birch State Park, with almost 200 acres of trails, camping facilities, canoeing, and more. And of course we have the beach, the Intracoastal Waterway, and every kind of water sport you could want.
In the near future, an exciting electric streetcar has been approved and planned for our downtown area, consisting of nearly a 3 mile radius. This will be one of the most unique attractions in the state, and give our tourism industry an even bigger boost, not to mention giving residents of all the inland high-rise condos an added convenience!
Let us give you a tour of the city we love, and help you find your perfect home or investment property. We want to be your resource for your Fort Lauderdale real estate needs, and offer our experience and dedication to making your dreams come true.
